This should be a scandal in Kentucky

One week ago, Kentucky state finance officials went to New York and spent $30 million on a bipartisan campaign stunt. You probably haven't heard anything about the nearly $400 million our state borrowed last week or the net loss of $30 million on restructuring of bonds for the sole purpose of making last year's state budget appear balanced. Want to know why?

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans in Frankfort care to draw attention to the fact that their self-congratulatory press conferences about how they set their differences aside and balanced the budget are based on you not knowing how much the charade is costing you.

We will never stop this kind of nonsense from repeating itself until we can draw attention to it and turn up the heat enough to make it stop. Kentucky Knows Best PAC blew the whistle Tuesday on how convicted felon state legislators are allowed to keep their fat pensions for life and already that issue has stirred Kentuckians to action.

With the state budget, the stakes are much higher and the need for sustained action is much greater.

Please forward this message as widely as you can and tell everyone you know that pretending to balance Kentucky's budget while borrowing and spending hundreds of millions of dollars is a fraud perpetrated against the people of Kentucky and that we have the power to make the politicians stop it. Working together, we can exercise that power.

Thank you for all you do to make Kentucky a better place.

It is time to start tell all of our Kentucky Legislators both in the senate and house that we will only accept a zero base budget. what is a zero base budget?
A zero base budget is were every department, commission, Cabinet, agency, law enforcement, judicial branch, Legislative Research Commission, and administrative job is on the line. Every job must be justified by the governor. The Legislature has authorized only 33,000 positions for the government. They have conveniently excluded the Department of Justice and the Legislative Research Commission.
The Legislators need to remove their pension and make the state employees pension no longer a defined pension program but a contribution pension program. It must begin immediately as an emergency. They can do this with out much trouble or hassle.
Last but not least is the teachers union. the Legislature must make this state an at will work state not a closed shop state at a minimum as to dues supporting political candidate.
I have reviewed the Federal budget for waste and fraud. Due to the lack of time I am sure there are grants, programs, and experiments that could be removed from the Budget.
I would also propose that we reduce and limit the budget to the size of 1990 just like they want to reduce pollution in this state, with a reduction of 3 percent every year until re reach 33,000 total employees including the LRC, the Justice Department, law enforcement and other state employees.
    Thank you
